In the ever changing landscape of Eden, there are many wonderful things germinating and growing vigorously, both physically and inspirationally.

Like so many of you experiencing our inclusive Detox' Programs, Eden is constantly undergoing transformation on so many levels. For instance, our newly renovated Garden Retreat is even more beautiful, relaxing, private and luxurious, but there is so much more going on here!

Our 'Gathering Events', continue to provide support for those guests that have completed our programs and wish to connect with people that, like them, have learnt to see and appreciate their lives in a very different way. Private counselling sessions also support our guest’s personal and spiritual development to continue at a pace that ensures that every individual is comfortable and that his or her needs are recognized honoured and met.

Gardening News!

The long hot summer saw a lot of our beautiful garden parched and dried however, we now have another 100,0000 Litre water tank installed and we harvested every drop that fell in this beautifully wet winter. As we enter the summer we have full tanks and a focus on conservation of our precious resource. Keeping this in mind we have installed an Ozone filter on our Forest Spa and are encouraging our guests use make use of this during the dry months and not the spas in our suites.

We have redesigned our vegetable gardens to take into account the lower expectations of available water in the coming years and have decided to plant a much larger orchard, to be fed by the grey water system and cultivate a much larger area closer to the main kitchen for our huge variety of vegetables so that it will be easy to hand water when necessary. These will ensure that you will not only be able to gather your own delicious organic food daily but you will also potentially leave with tons of ideas, cuttings and seeds!

We really enjoyed receiving credits from the power company over last summer as we generated all of our energy needs. The installation of our 5 kW Solar system was a large investment but has really paid off. Obviously the winter months reduced our ability to create that much power but even so the difference was much appreciated!

Those of you that have not yet been part of the ‘Eden Experience’ will perhaps not appreciate the emphasis we place on inspiration and education. It has always been our goal to inspire you personally to live healthier, happier and more rewarding lives but we are increasingly aware of our responsibility and ability to share simple tools that will allow you to live consciously and sustainably. This aspect of Eden is evolving into a larger and very enriching part of our vision.

To this end we have enlisted the support and expertise of Jeremy Albertson, a Permaculture expert and teacher, to design and supervise the building of our gardens. He and others will be inspiring many of you, though work shops, busy bees and lectures, to find the space, time and inclination to live more consciously, grow your own food and make the shift to sustainable living.

Our Organic Vegetable Gardens are already progressively able to supplement the needs of our guests (if we can keep the kangaroos, Eagles and possums at bay!) and this will increasingly be the case. For those guests that are imminently joining us for your tailored programs you will be able to gather & enjoy the following crops during your stay: French Sorrel, Beetroot, Rainbow Chard, Silver beet, Rhubarb, spinach, celery, broccoli and avocados. The lemonades, mandarins and oranges are also ready.

In the culinary herb garden we have Parsley, Basil, Rosemary, Lemongrass, Sage, Borage, Oregano, Golden marjoram, Chocolate mint & Peppermint & Apple mint, Fennell, Lemon balm & Thyme.
